2015 May:

We are in the final stages of our project honoring Rev. Jozef Murgaš.

The room will house the archives of Father Murgaš. On display will be his butterfly collection, some  original paintings, and replicas of his paintings of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary which adorned the altars at Sacred Heart Slovak Church in Wilkes-Barre. This project will memorialize Father Murgaš and his brilliant work in the field of art, botany, science and wireless telegraphy.

Father Murgaš was a Slovak inventor, architect, botanist, painter, patriot and Roman Catholic priest and pioneer in the field of radiotelegraphy. He received several patents in the field of wireless radio transmission while serving as priest at sacred Heart Slovak Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA. USA

2014 November:

We are pleased and proud to announce that we have reached our goal of $50,000 for the King's on the Square "Murgaš Room."

We thank all of you who were so generous with your contributions toward this important project. This is a great accomplishment for all of us.

Additional funding is necessary for restoring certain items, climate control in the room and two glass panels depicting the two radio towers.

Since this will be an ongoing endeavor, there is still time for those who have not contributed to make a contribution regardless of amount. Additional funds are necessary and will be greatly appreciated.

The architect and builders are in the final planning stages. Work is in progress.

Again, our thanks to all of you!
